Without testing and certification of your installed systems, you can be held responsible for an accident / fatality. Organisations and individuals therein, that fail to take responsibility for health and safety are subject to criminal prosecution and/or civil action.
Safety Cable Systems
The Ariana / Evolution Safety Cable System is designed to act as a fall prevention device complaint with EN795 Class C. All systems require periodic inspection as part of the following BS Standards.
BS EN 795:1997 - Protection against fall from height, anchor devices, requirements and
testing
B7883:2005 - Code of practice for the design, selection, installation and maintenance
of anchor devices confirming to BS EN795
BS 8437:2005 - Code of practice for selection, use and maintenance of personal fall
protection
systems and equipment for use in the workplace
BS EN365:2004 - Personal protective equipment against falls from height, general
requirements
for instructions for use, maintenance periodic examinations, repair,
marking and packaging
Annual Inspections
BS7883:2005 Section 12 1.2 states (with direct reference also to BS EN365:2004 Section 4.4
“ At least once every 12 months each anchor device should be examined in accordance with the manufacturers instructions by a competent person”
BS 7883:2005 Section 3.20 states (with direct reference also to BS 8437:2005 Section 3.10)
“ Competent Persons”
Designated person suitable training or qualified by knowledge and pratical experience to enable the required task or tasks to be carried out properly
BS7883:2005 Section 3.21 states (with direct reference also to BS EN 365:2004 section 3.3)
“ Competent person for periodic examination”
Person who is knowledgeable of the current periodic examination requirements, recommendations and instructions issued by the manufacturer applicable yo the relevant component, sub system or system"
